Buildin’ da Stompa
Wazrukk returned to Wurrzog’s camp with trukk loads of scrap for da stompa.
So, Wurrzog (me) got stuck in…
—-
I’ve built the body, the head, the shooty arm and most of the chain-fist arm.
I just wanted to share a tip… Don’t try to hold both weapon arms on with one hand to see what it looks like…
They will drop off and they will break!
Yes, I found out through personal experience.
The shooty arm come off quite badly, most was fixable but the little targeter on the fat missile was pretty much destroyed so I just chopped it off and sanded it down (I was planning on doing this anyway - honest…
he says dripping with sarcasm).
Anyway, just a word of warning…
—-
Wurrzog, picks his spanner back up and gets back to work…
Sneakin’ Eldar
As soon as the attack began, it was over.
Wurrzog scanned the skys for something to shoot at but the Eldar were no where to be seen.
“Sneakin’ gits, neva stick around for a proper scrap…” he growled and took a swipe at the nearest snotling.
—
That’s right the game was called off.
But I’ll report on what happens when Wurrzog and the Eldar finally do clash.
The Eldar Strike
Wazrukk headed off to get some scrap so that Wurrzog could build him a Stompa.
While he was away Wurrzog continued to tinker in his workshop.
After a few days of nothing in particular happening there was suddenly a huge explosion, there was nothing unuasual
with that, except it was usually Wurrzog that was the cause of them…
Rushing out of his workshop, pausing just long enough to grab his Shokk Attack Gun.
He got outside and saw an Eldar Jet Bike strafing the camp.
“Roight!” Bellowed Wurrzog, “Round up the Snotlings…”

Playing a 750 pt battle with my new Mek list this evening…
Deff Dread - Simple Conversion.

Ork Deff Dread with 3 Close Combat Weapons
I had to do a simple conversion for my Deff Dread. I found that if you want to add a 3rd close combat weapon arm, the hole for the arm is a little low, especially the way I chose to position the legs.
To work around this I sealed up he hole with green stuff and drilled a new hole higher up.
I got the 3rd arm from a Killa Kan kit. As you only get 2 close combat weapons in an Ork Dread kit adding extra arms can get pretty expensive.
All in all though I like the Deff Dread (apart from the above gripe), the huge long limbs look really cool, I can just imagine them flailing around on the battlefield…
Big Mek Wurrzog
Wazrukk was in luck, after a few days he came across an Ork camp, it had the unmistakable signs of Orkish industry; chaos, smoke and a lot of shouting.
Roaring into the camp with the rest of his warband, Wazrukk saw Killa Kans a a Deff Dread milling around to one side and know that he’d found the Mek he was looking for.
Sure enough, out a run down workshop, a large Ork appeared carrying a huge hammer…
“What’s all dis den?” he demanded.
Wazrukk replied “I’s da biggest Warboss around dis place. If you join me you’ll get all the scrap metal you want. You join my Waaargh and together we’ll build enough Stompa’s to Stomp this planet flat! What’s ya name?”
“I’s Wurrzog da Dreadmek and I reckon you got a deal…”
So Wurrzog joined Wazrukk and a unholy alliance was spawned.

Adding the Mek to my current Speed Freeks list not only gives me a good back story to justify the addition of the Stompa, it also gives me a new army to surprise my opponent on Tuesday evening. I’m playing against Eldar. I’ll post about how the new Mek army performs after the game.
Mek Needed Apply to Da Warboss…
“Now, Wazrukk wasn’t your typical Speed Freek but had a streak of Orkish cunning that had helped him get rid of his rivals and become Warboss (well that and judicious application of a choppa).
Either way he was a sneaky git and knew that rushing headlong at the enemy on a bike screaming Waaargh at the top of your lungs, enjoyable as it was, wasn’t always enough.
He reasoned, if that is the right word, that When the enemy is throwing “da big stuff” at you your need to throw da big stuff back. Wazrukk knew that the only way to get big stuff was to get a Mek to build it for you.
So he sent set off looking for a Mek to build da big stuff he wanted… A Stompa…”

This is an extensively modified version of the Speed Freeks list I’ve been fielding for a while. I also introduced a couple of non-Speed Freek elements, the Artillery & Kommandos, that I feel don’t detract too much from the armies theme. They are hangers on or support units rather than part of the core army.
Using this list I won my last game, beating the Imperial Guard after a winning drought of several games.
Feel free to let me know what you think.
A Matter of Probability
I’m not your typical must win at all costs beardy player by any means but sometimes I just want to know, say, how many Imperial guard a squad of 30 Shoota totting Orks is likely to take out in a single turn.
I usually turn to a spreadsheet app to help me with these things but just this once I decided to see if there was anything online that could help and I found this dice rolling probability application, Small Roller.
Nothing Orky to add today, I just thought that other Warhammer Players might find it useful.
Getting Stompy
Oh dear, looks like I’ve been derailed by day 2 of the blog.
In yesterdays post I introduce Waaargh Wazrukk, a Speed Freeks army.
- The newly opened Ork Stompa Box
Now, here I am staring in wonder at the thing of beauty that is the Stompa Kit. What Ork player can resist.
Expect more Stompiness to be added to Waaargh Wazrukk over the next few months…
There are over 200 parts in this kit - a converters dream. I expect to be building a couple of these over the next few months and hope to have loads of bits left over to add some extra character to my vehicles.
Meet Wazrukk
First a little intro, my name is Paul, I run Total Wargamer an online wargames store and I’ve been playing Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 on and off for about 20 years. Orks have always been my thing (apart from a short dalliance with the Tau), all the way from the Rogue Trader days and now in 4th and 5th ed.
I didn’t like 2nd ed much and 3rd ed completely passed me by.
When I started my 4th ed Ork army I thought long and hard about it and decided I wanted to be Speed Freeks.
I’ve been slowly building up a collection of bikes, buggies, trukks and battlewagons ever since and this blog will follow the progress of Waaargh Wazrukk as the collection grows, part hobby blog, part battle report, all Orky…
My Warboss embodies the Speed Freek ideal, a power claw wielding lunatic mounted on a warbike he rushes headlong into the enemy tearing elite units and, especially, tanks apart.
Anyway, the title of this post is meet Wazrukk, so here he is…

Warboss Wazrukk
He’s built from 4 different models, a metal Ork Warboss, a Warbiker Nob, the Warboss from Assault on Black Reach and the Head is from Ghazghkull Thraka. I’m very happy with how the conversion has gone so far.
As with all my Ork army he is looking a little (also known as very) unfinished at the moment, I’m planning on adding a couple more bitz and obviously he needs a proper paint job, keep following the blog as Waaargh Wazrukk grows to see how he turns out.
Wazrukk means “Speed Charge” and he certainly does.
Anyway, that’s the end of my Hello World post, stay tuned…
