Sneakin’ Eldar: The Aftermath
Well the Orks got completely battered last night.
My mate fielded an army built entirely of skimmers and jet bikes and I just couldn’t get close enough to do any damage.
In brief, this is what happened:
The Eldar held back in reserve while the Orks charged into the middle of the table.
The Eldar deploy at two opposite sides of their table edge meaning they are about 2 feet away from the nearest Ork.
They shoot first, there goes the Wurzog in turn one…
They then proceed to nip around the table staying out of range of the majority of the Orks weapons and taking pot shots whenever it is safe to do so.
Repeat for every turn of the game…
The orks took out a single Vyper with my Shoota Boyz, and my mate lost a jet bike himself to a dangerous terrain test.
The Orks lost Big Mek Wurzog, 3 Killa Kans, 20 Slugga Boyz & 11 Shoota Boyz.
Not a Good day for the Waaargh…
I must say I really liked my mates army, it looked very cool and had a very Eldar raiding party feel about it.
I feel my Mek list with walkers etc was completely inappropriate to deal with this army and may have been better off with a cut down version of my Speed Freeks list.
Anyone got any other ideas?
Wazrukk meets da Stompa

Wazrukk meets da Stompa
Well da Waaargh is back from the Canaries and Wazrukk has gone a slightly darker shade of green.
Wurrzog wasn’t invited so was left to carry on building the Stompa.
Wazrukk’s reaction to the progress so far was captured on his return…
…Corr Indeed!

This is an extensively modified version of the Speed Freeks list I’ve been fielding for a while. I also introduced a couple of non-Speed Freek elements, the Artillery & Kommandos, that I feel don’t detract too much from the armies theme. They are hangers on or support units rather than part of the core army.
Using this list I won my last game, beating the Imperial Guard after a winning drought of several games.
Feel free to let me know what you think.
Meet Wazrukk
First a little intro, my name is Paul, I run Total Wargamer an online wargames store and I’ve been playing Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 on and off for about 20 years. Orks have always been my thing (apart from a short dalliance with the Tau), all the way from the Rogue Trader days and now in 4th and 5th ed.
I didn’t like 2nd ed much and 3rd ed completely passed me by.
When I started my 4th ed Ork army I thought long and hard about it and decided I wanted to be Speed Freeks.
I’ve been slowly building up a collection of bikes, buggies, trukks and battlewagons ever since and this blog will follow the progress of Waaargh Wazrukk as the collection grows, part hobby blog, part battle report, all Orky…
My Warboss embodies the Speed Freek ideal, a power claw wielding lunatic mounted on a warbike he rushes headlong into the enemy tearing elite units and, especially, tanks apart.
Anyway, the title of this post is meet Wazrukk, so here he is…

Warboss Wazrukk
He’s built from 4 different models, a metal Ork Warboss, a Warbiker Nob, the Warboss from Assault on Black Reach and the Head is from Ghazghkull Thraka. I’m very happy with how the conversion has gone so far.
As with all my Ork army he is looking a little (also known as very) unfinished at the moment, I’m planning on adding a couple more bitz and obviously he needs a proper paint job, keep following the blog as Waaargh Wazrukk grows to see how he turns out.
Wazrukk means “Speed Charge” and he certainly does.
Anyway, that’s the end of my Hello World post, stay tuned…
